WCED Assessment Code Alignment (Effective 1 August 2026)
From 1 August 2026, Staffroom introduces new WCED assessment absentee codes that align directly with the WCED Mark Recording Sheets. This update simplifies mark capturing by using the same codes required by the WCED, reducing manual editing and improving accuracy.
New Assessment Codes

What Happens to Existing Data?
- Will my existing assessment codes change?
No. Existing assessment codes remain unchanged.
- Will previous academic years be updated?
No. Historical years remain exactly as they are.
- When do the new validation rules apply?
Only to assessment entries captured from 1 August 2026 onwards.
Best Practices
- Use the new WCED codes when capturing assessments from 1 August 2026 onwards.
- Do not edit historical assessment data unless required.
- Ensure staff responsible for mark capturing are aware of the new codes before the assessment period begins.
